With the class set of books, my students will be able to enjoy a grade-level book that incorporates cultural details relating to my students' backgrounds. This will help gain their interest in the book and heighten their excitement about reading in general. I want to foster a love of reading in each of my students and by having a class set of this book, I will be able to introduce them to a series that will undoubtably be one of their favorites. Representation is incredibly important in literature and each child deserves to have access to materials that relate to who they are or what they are familiar with. Not only will these books develop my students' reading abilities and language skills, but they will be treasured and enjoyed for years to come. The only way to become a more fluent reader is to read more books. It only makes sense to showcase to my students a book that will inspire them to look for more to read!
