With your help we can obtain a washing machine in order to provide our students with special needs the opportunity to learn valuable daily living skills, by washing and drying clothes for other students at the high school who have a need for laundry services. By providing classroom access for this service, students with special needs will learn the proper way to sort laundry, correctly operate a washer and dryer, and proper folding skills for laundry to then be returned to the owner. Repeated exposure to these steps will help students with special needs develop lifelong independent daily living skills for post-secondary living. This service will also prove to be a valuable lesson for the students with special needs to learn how they can help other students by providing a service for those who do not have access to laundry services.
