Our students on Kauai are incredibly gifted engineers. Last year it was difficult to provide students with sufficient learning opportunities and resources due to the challenges of COVID-19. Our students desperately need a year rich with activities that take them away from the computer and guide them to look within themselves! With this project, in person and online students will have a unique opportunity to apply force/motion and energy concepts in an extremely creative way by building their own roller coaster models! Students will use all requested materials to imagine and construct their own amazing roller coaster designs. They will also use triboards to explain and display their understanding of the 8th grade science related standards behind their projects.
