My students are determined and hungry for knowledge they normally do not learn. In my class, I make it a point to give my students different viewpoints to every unit we cover. Reading is so important for their growth, especially reading about the history. My students want to see change in this world, and many of them don't know how to make that change they want; however, by reading about the experiences of others and practicing empathy for them. These scholars have experienced so much these past few years, and these books as well as the topics can help them make substantial gains both academically and personally. Every day, I challenge my students to look at things through a different lens while challenging their critical thinking skills to hone their abilities.
