These materials will allow each student to have their own materials to use in an active classroom environment. The items I asked for will add inspiration to their mana'o (thoughts) as they use them to move around the classroom and "make their mark." Use of color is a major theme for my vision. The chalkboard will allow us to create an installation type mural to go along with the themes from our lessons. The extension cords ensure that students and co-teachers have the proper tools to run their devices. The podium allows me, as the instructor, to move around the room and be more present with students than if I were always stuck behind a desk. The yard stick helps us to monitor distancing. Magnets and other whiteboard accessories open up many different options for instruction. All of these tools are meant to add to a dynamic and inspiring classroom where students feel stimulated to build reading and writing skills.
