Through differentiated instruction I incorporate a variety of learning and behaviorial strategies to ensure that everyone's needs are being met. With current regulations and social distancing recommendations maintaining structure and organization with focused 7 year olds sitting at a desk for the majority of a 7 hour day is near impossible in a classroom setting. Flexible seating will be an integral part of the transition to in person instruction as well as each student's readjustment to a structured classroom environment.
This progressive setting of flexible seating options will enable students to safely move about the classroom, which will in turn increase engagement and active learning, resulting in thriving students.
Flexible seating options in the classroom provide students with an outlet for energy, in turn keeping their minds more alert and focused. Some students just need to get the wiggles out and some need to move repeatedly throughout the day in order to remain actively engaged. Flexible seating increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. Your donations would help provide my students with Ergoergo and Wobble stools, and the lap desks giving them options to optimize their learning experience. Choice positively affects students. Motivated students are more focused, make better decisions and are more likely to have success.
