As we begin to see the light at the end of this pandemic disruption, our school is returning to Face to Face learning. After such an extended time of Virtual Learning and Online Classes, it is important to remind students of the joy and value of education by helping them see the application of their thinking skills put into real world design and build challenges involving mathematics. This is especially important and empowering for students who have felt isolated and disconnected from classroom education for the past year and a half. Students will use these mathematics manipulatives for projects ranging from the use of math for 3D modeling and design of puzzles and structutres to the role of mathematics in the patterns of music. It is right to say these tools will serve the whole class in increasing engagement, but specifically these are will also help my most at risk students to heal through creativity, reclaim their generations' role as active shapers of the world, to help them to develop their problem solving and collaboration skills all while feeling the pride and joy of using math to be creative and show their efforts to the school community. Thank you for any help you might offer.
