These materials will be used to equip existing classroom aquariums in order to house freshwater and saltwater organisms. In my Marine Science and Biology classes we go over a plethora of topics that can be applied in aquarium keeping, such as homeostasis, energy and matter transfer, biogeochemical cycles, and more. The skills my students will learn through keeping and maintaining aquariums can be applied to the Marine Science industry here in Hawaii, hopefully giving our students the chance to pay their learning and experience forward locally. Learning is done by doing, and I want my classroom and curriculum to take the next step forward by giving students a chance to apply what they learn.
