This rug will be a visual aid for my students who still need help remembering their letter names and sounds. It will be also be used to teach shapes, numbers, and colors. I will also use it to help my students identify animals that are not familiar to them. As a group, we will use the carpet for read alouds, calendar time, sharing, singing, and dancing. Since there are 30 spaces on this carpet, each student will be able to have their own space and feel like they are part of our classroom community.
