A part of independence and being self sufficient means being able to cook or make basic meals independently. The measuring utensils would allow students to explore math while also measuring the ingredients needed for preparing meals. The baking sets would be used to to teach about healthy eating and how to prepare healthy foods. The pots and pans would be beneficial in exploring how to boil water while learning about the boiling point of water. The dish racks will be used to dry dishes after washing them. Donating to this project will not only help my students acquire new skills needed for navigating in a kitchen, it will also help them in the quest for independence and self-sufficiency needed for future success. In addition, learning cooking skills gives the students an opportunity to explore talents and potential careers in the cooking industry.
