We often think about flexible seating for young children who have trouble sitting still, but it might really be the students in the middle who need it most. Adolescent students are growing and changing and facing a wide variety of challenges in classrooms. Sitting in uncomfortable chairs during this time can interfere with their ability to focus and learn. Lighting can also play a part in the environment. The items selected will help to create a welcoming environment where students can be comfortable and feel like part of a community. I believe the environment can make a huge difference for students and encourage engagement and participation.
