As I am entering my second year of teaching, I want to challenge myself to include more STEAM opportunities for my students, and to do that, my goal is to incorporate a Maker Space for my kiddos. Some of the most powerful teaching moments of my first year came when I gave my students open ended opportunities to create, try, and learn from each other. Maker Spaces also promote a growth mindset, challenging students not to give up the first time, but to try a different way of achieving the goal. My hope this year is to foster the resiliency and creative thinking that the last year of pandemic learning has ingrained in our students.
