Our students in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma come from tough living circumstances and the last thing they want to do is come to school and learn. Each item listed in this project will be used in the classroom to make it an inviting, uplifting, encouraging and welcoming environment so that students want to learn, want to engage, want to participate, and want to come to school. The items in this project will provide the inviting and inspiring classroom decor needed to engage students and make them excited about learning. The rug and storage ottoman will go into the reading corner, along with the reading poster. Students can recline and hang out and feel at ease while learning. Books will be stored inside the storage ottoman for easy access. The growth mindset posters will be placed above the white board so that students are encouraged and uplifted as they go about their daily tasks. Each item in this project has been specifically chosen to foster the warm, inviting and encouraging environment needed to help students feel at ease in their learning.
