This new class set of books will freshen up our current 6th grade book list and give my students a more contemporary book to read. It will help me continue to make reading fun and exciting for my students. This class set will also help diversify our collection of books since it is written by an Asian American author and has a female protagonist. Diverse books will help expose my students to different cultures and ways of thinking. I also know how rewarding it will be for my Asian American students to see themselves represented in the books that are being taught in school.
