Observing the world through looking and drawing helps students to learn science more deeply. Having a scientific notebook to take into the field or use in class will give my at-risk students the basic tools to cross-pollinate their understanding of science by using drawing and observations in real-time. Having a basic kit of these simple tools will give all of my students the even starting point they need for success. Starting off all students with the same kit promotes equity in the classroom and outside as well.
