First grade is one of the most important years for students to learn how to read. I want to incorporate read-a-louds into our many lessons, and I would love soft spaces for the students to sit. The rug and the sit-spots would be used multiple times a day during my lessons. I have added a storage compartment to hold their journals and supplies as well as a class mailbox. Teaching at a low-come school is very rewarding, but I need your help to give my students the best year ever! Everything on this list is much needed and would be very appreciated!
