1 Rug + 1 Teacher = 20 Growing Kindergarteners? Only one part of that equation is missing; it's the rug! The importance of having a carpet space is necessary in early childhood education because that is where students are best learning. At this age, students are new to the classroom setting, so they have plenty of wiggles. They can have so many wiggles that sitting in a chair can make it very difficult to focus on learning. In close proximity with students, it is easier to help make connections, reteach on the spot and have them work with their peers. Not only does this help with learning academics, it also helps during social and emotional learning time. Pulling students close together to teach topics like respect, friendship, kindness, and so on will help keep students connected to the conversation, so they are taking in all of that information to help strengthen our classroom culture. Your donation will help build and create our classroom culture and strengthen their minds with not only social and emotional learning but academically as well.
