With an area designated to math manipulatives, large and small, the learning is limitless! Having math tools easily accessible and displayed during the day can give a child extra support when needed to solve math problems independently. Children need time to practice skills in fun and engaging ways to develop a deep understanding of number sense and fact strategies. Students will be able to work in the math area independently, teacher-guided, and with peer groups throughout the day. The items I have requested will help my students master all of the required math standards for first grade. I know making math fun and engaging with hands-on activities will develop a life-long love of math. Please help me develop future mathematicians in my classroom!
