The sea life carpet will give students a calm place to gather and give them a structured location in the classroom to work together. Each morning we meet for our social/emotional meeting and share our feelings/answer an open-ended question. Students also have the right to pass, but it always builds a community within the classroom. Legos are a great way to take brain breaks while still incorporating STEAM! They also are a fun way to help students work towards personal goals in their own learning. When they accomplish and reach their goals, they get to create with the Lego sets.
