To help students become more environmental literate, it is essential that students learn how the environment works in order for them to formulate solutions on how to fix it. Nature deficient disorder is among many students where they lack the outdoor experiences to help them appreciate the world around them. I would like students to be able to do fieldwork using the resources around our campus to study the health of aquatic ecosystems. Students will measure different variants and propose solutions where necessary. Hands-on experiences will increase environmental stewardship.
