This project aims to start a cultural music program in my Hawaiian Culture and Perspective class. Through the use of an ukulele, students will learn how to play cultural songs, specifically Hawaiian songs, to revitalize cultural practices. Songs can be used as a great introduction to cultural learning practices. Many of my students have not had access to music practices and this will be one of their first experiences using music instruments at school. Supporting this project will help to build my students' interest in music and cultural education - those topics needed in the success of all learners.
