Many lessons require assignments to follow a student’s specific and individualized education plan. This includes accommodations discussed in the students annual meeting that will uniquely help their learning process. The accommodations can include coloring or highlighting materials for notes or reference, providing visuals (pictures, flow charts, maps), and articles used to grasp current concepts being taught. Often, I am scrambling to color materials myself by hand on black and white copies to provide needed documents for students because we only have a black and white printer. The only color printer we have access to is in the library on the other side of the building and have to put the order in a week or so in advance. Occasionally students will lose a copy or need a different version at a moments notice so doing it by hand is the only option. Some students take unfinished work home and or work in our designated study hall so this would allow them to take the copies to other areas as well. We also have diagrams and visuals posted in the room that would be better seen in color as well. I feel like having colored printed copies would help the learning process by providing professional documents for students to emphasize the importance and time taken to provide quality materials for them to learn with. The colored printer would help prepare these documents faster and in a more organized fashion for the short classes we have. We thank you for the this opportunity and would very much appreciate this donation!
