Some of my students have not stepped foot in the classroom since March of 2020. That being said, my goal is to create and cultivate a well-rounded learning environment that motivates, encourages, and excites students to come to school each day to learn!
Safety, engagement, and learning success are the main areas I intend to use these supplies for. In addition, I added extra school supplies like folders and composition notebooks for students who may not have been able to purchase school supplies.
SAFETY & HYGIENE:
-Hand soap, disinfecting spray and wipes, extra masks, carpet spots (to properly social distancing)
ENGAGEMENT:
-Arts Integration resource book, watercolors, paintbrushes, oil pastels (I teach using visual and performing arts to provide students with a deeper sense of learning and connectivity within the subject areas)
-Bulletin board paper/ borders, laminating machine & pouches (provide students with a room that is lively and engaging as many of our learning materials get put up on our bulletin boards)
-Fake money (allows for a class economy that will provide students with real-life applications like completing their jobs and getting paid; this will also connect seamlessly with math, giving students more opportunities to master their money-counting skills)
LEARNING SUCCESS:
-Healthy snacks & a filtering water pitcher (no child can learn properly if they are hungry or thirsty!)
-File folders and bins (provides the teacher with an organized way to track and assess student data and progression throughout the year)
-Folders, notebooks, scissors, glue sticks, pouches, zip bags (supplies that will be used all year for lessons, activities, etc.)
For those who choose to donate or even consider donating but can't, I want to give you a big thank you from the bottom of my heart! I'm sure my students will be so appreciative as well!
