When you are teaching four and five year olds the key to success is consistency and organization! I’m asking for a pocket chart and organizer stand because those two things will allow me to put materials down to the students' level. This will help them learn to be responsible for their belongings and help them to become problem solvers. The organization tower will help hold the extra supplies such as paper, pencils, scissors, crayons, glue, etc. When a student needs one of those things they can simply walk over and find it themselves. This helps the adults in the room stay focused on teaching without having to stop and get a pencil. Another important aspect of the classroom is making sure the students feel at home. We are in desperate need of a new big rug to have our morning circle time. Our rug has been passed to a few classrooms over the last decade and you can only imagine what those stains might be! It’s being held together with duct tape and a lot of love. We spend quite a bit of time around the rug each day. We come together to discuss what will happen each day, what we will be learning. Many little boys and girls have laid on that rug exploring blocks or driving trains around the edges. A new rug would help breathe new life into our classroom home. We could also use new headphones. We have been blessed with a set of 12 iPads in our classroom but the older headphones have slowly died one by one. These are things I would normally buy out of pocket to replace each year so your donation is so very appreciated! Every item on our list will help these sweet babies learn and grow.
