Funding an inviting classroom library, full of high interest books would be a dream come true for my 3rd/ 4th grade class. It is my dream to have the supplies to re-introduce them to the magic of reading! As I am moving into a new school and a new grade level, I see such a need for reading materials for my students. Research suggests that a well established classroom library should contain over a thousand books. It is necessary for students to have ample opportunities for reading and expose themselves to many different types of literature. Last year was one of the hardest years for elementary students and the magic of reading has not been fully utilized! Having students back in the classroom full time and putting real, tangible books in their hands will mean the world to them. Having a classroom library, filled with books tailored to their interests and readings levels, will make a huge difference in their education!
