Students will be able to read new, exciting literature at home. Reading builds vocabulary and promotes imagination, thinking, and problem-solving. Students who read for pleasure are more likely to go to college and typically do better on standardized tests. Being able to recommend books from my room motivates my students to read; I can organize my classroom library to make it easier for my kids to select books they will love. Going to the library can be time-consuming and daunting for reluctant readers, and having books within arm's reach will help them start reading right away.

About my class
