All of our students with autism have unique and individual strategies they learn to regulate their emotions and feelings throughout their day. Each of the items that have been requested will help my students learn strategies to calm down and be more successful throughout their day both in the general education setting and special education setting! Tools like the body sock and the pea pod chair tend to be a tool students with autism use to calm down when they are over stimulated by things throughout the school day! My students work extremely hard to navigate their way through the world through the lenses of autism. If this project is funded, I will be ready to give them a space with tools and strategies to use to make their days a little more comfortable.

About my class
