At the start of the 2020-2021 school year, I had just moved to Hawai'i and was teaching middle school for the very first time. Of course, we also had to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, and the majority of the school year we taught students who were fully at home. This upcoming school year will be the first one where my students will have access to more "normal" classroom supplies such as a classroom library full of books. By funding this project, you are assisting me in creating a library full of high-interest reads to help spark my students' love of reading. The titles I have chosen are ones by authors of diverse backgrounds and perspectives, and the content of the novels are all highly engaging for my students. Furthermore, I have added in a classroom set of clipboards to assist in my classroom "book tastings" and a set of individual whiteboards where students can write quick reviews for the books they are currently reading to share with their classmates.
