Through the texts in this project, students will be able to gain new insights on their identity and the identity and experiences of others. Centering diverse narratives is crucial to the development of our students' social emotional and social justice mindsets. The texts in this project will allow students opportunities to learn about and explore the many ways people interact throughout our country and the world. I will center these texts as anchors during classroom discussions and literacy development. Representation of all people in texts is important to ensuring students are receiving culturally responsive instruction and developing as future citizens.

About my class
