My personal students will benefit from assistive technology devices (such as the device listed for my project) to increase functional communication skills within their environments. Accessing these communication skills through an assistive technology device can help non-verbal to profoundly disabled students include requesting items (e.g. snack, help, bathroom) to commenting on classroom activities, or greeting fellow peers or staff. I have personally experienced the effect of using these devices to improve student's communication skills, and further, improve their academic success. I want to thank you for considering this project! Ryan
