I serve grades Pre-K to 2nd grade. At this point, each student that I will be working with has spent their entire educational career impacted by the pandemic. Reading and listening to books is a huge part of early elementary education. Most of my students have spent a majority of their time listening and reading these books over a computer through YouTube videos or teacher read alouds on Zoom. This project is raising money to purchase physical books for me to use within therapy sessions. Literacy based therapy is a passion of mine and is a fun way to target so many early language skills that are essential to academics. I will use these books throughout the year to help my students develop their expressive, receptive, and pragmatic language skills.
