There is no doubt that the current atmosphere at schools is one of anxiety, fear, and uncertain times. At my school, students are faced with the fears of Covid-19 on a consistent basis. Peers in and out of quarantine, it can become so daunting. The Cafe is the one place students are able to come and let off some of that stress, interact with their peers, and take a break from mask-wearing to eat. In an effort to continue to encourage positive behavior and give the students something to look forward to, I created a cafe rewards system in which students are able to earn punches to their rewards card every day that they enter the cafe. When they reach 20 punches they get a reward that they have agreed upon as a class. It encourages teamwork, consistency, mindfulness, and overall improve the morale at school. The help from your donation will help me and my very small budget be successful all year with providing students with the right kind of behavior reinforcement and bring some of the joy students had at school.
