Classroom carpets allow for building a classroom family. They are wonderful for story time and centers. Sitting on the floor is a more natural way for young children, kindergarteners, to learn when their bodies are still growing and developing. Last year, students greatly missed the opportunity to develop social skills and team building when they sat at their desks most of the school day. In order for this to happen, they need a place to sit as my school just replaced our flooring with laminate. I cannot wait for my students to enjoy storytime again.
