In my 3rd grade class, we use headphones several times throughout the day, and of course, we use chairs- they are a necessity. Right now, we are sharing headphones, wiping them down after each use. Having a pair of good sturdy headphones per student will benefit the students, and not pass around as many germs. Also, in the event that school will again go virtual, having a pair of headphones that each student can take home with them will help block out the everyday interruptions they face while learning in that type of environment. We have all felt a surge of anxiety in our lives since the COVID-19 Pandemic; by donating to this project, you will help my students naturally let out some of the anxious feelings, and allow them to focus more on learning. The wiggle chairs I hope to get will give students the ability to move around while still sitting, allowing them more brainpower to focus on what we are learning in class. It is a proven fact that movement is a powerful tool to help reduce stress and anxiety; and after the last two years, that is something all students are trying to figure out how to handle. If my project is funded my students will be taking one more precaution to help lessen the germs we are spreading at school, be more prepared if we happen to go virtual again, as well as reduce the amount of stress and anxiety they are all feeling right now by moving in our wiggle chairs.
