In early childhood education, you often see students meeting together for lessons on a classroom carpet. This is a designated area for students to learn and grow. My current classroom does not have a carpet but we do still meet together it's just on the cold hard tile. Students learn best in an environment where they feel safe and comfortable. Each child will have their own assigned area so that we can safely distance ourselves from one another while we are learning. On our classroom carpet, we will read, do math, have social-emotional lessons, play games, and get to know one another. This will easily be one of the most used spaces in our classroom.
