One of the most important things to me as an educator is to provide my students with an environment in which they are able to thrive. As a new teacher I have limited supplies and resources and am asking for help to provide my students with the supplies needed to create a learning environment they can be successful in. Soft lighting and flexible seating allows students to make intentional choices about their learning space. Students choose a location and flexible seating option that fits their unique learning needs, providing students the opportunity to take ownership in their learning by allowing them to be comfortable and engaged. Research shows that giving students autonomy in their learning is motivating and results in higher engagement and participation. It is my hope that by implementing flexible seating into my classroom it is my hope that students feel comfortable and eager to participate and engage in their learning! In addition to providing soft lighting and flexible seating options, my project will also supply my classroom with supplemental resources and classroom supplies.
