Sensory perceptions can become frightening or even painful and can lead to high anxiety and meltdowns integration provides a foundation for more complex learning and behavior. For most of us, effective sensory integration occurs automatically. For many people with autism, the process demands effort and attention with no guarantee of accuracy. I have picked items that will enhance my students' educational ability and assist them in learning self-regulation skills while giving them sensory input!
