These materials will be used in the classroom. The flexible seating inside the classroom will give students options as to where they feel most comfortable for that lesson. I am looking forward to grabbing my students, blankets/chairs, and books to head outside for class reading. Donations for this project will allow students to share blankets under trees outside the classroom while reading their small group books or the whole class novel. Fresh air, sunlight, and nature are big parts of Esperanza's story. Students enjoying this novel outside will be able to "lie down on the land, you can feel it (the earth) breathe? That you can feel its heart beating?" The other supplies are perfect for classroom projects. Fun puzzle erasers for morning meeting challenges. Cardstock for a gratitude/appreciation wall, art projects, and highlighting creative responses to their reading.
