The donation of risers for my students will make a significant impact in the daily classroom as well as class performances. We currently do not have enough risers to accommodate our students during class time. Risers in the classroom would allow each student to be able to easily view the conductor, practice movements that accompany each song, as well as allowing the conductor to view all students and assess the sound and tone being produced before dress rehearsal. Currently, some of our students must stand on the floor during performances. These students have difficulty seeing, and being seen. It becomes challenging to decide which students must meet these challenges. Risers would eliminate those difficult, often seen as unfair, disadvantages. The cost of risers in not in the budget of a school our size. Our music students should enjoy the proper equipment not only to practice, but to perform. Thank you for your consideration.
