Why all the colored paper you ask? Because white paper is just plain boring. Students love to create their year-long interactive reading notebooks using colored paper. This notebook contains everything from vocabulary "flip-flaps" to grammar "foldables" that the students put together themselves throughout the school year. Bright colors make learning more fun! So, what's a better way to check on a student's understanding of what they've learned? Use a sticky note! Each sticky note will have a pre-printed question or math problem that the student will answer and place on a board. It gives me, the teacher, quick and easy access to see if they've "got it!" Our classroom will have a soothing ocean/beach theme for this upcoming school year. What's a better way to make waves than having your very own ocean desk pet? These aquatic critters are an incentive that each student will earn for a job well-done because they deserve it!
