These books will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. They will also enhance the feelings of community and what it means to be a family in my classroom as I chose books that center around diversity and inclusion. My classroom library is a place that my students will really enjoy and feel represented by. I will be participating in guided reading with them at my table and having them independently read as well. Independent readers will analyze texts and create connections between different texts. Each and every book in my library will be treated with respect and care, as these are high expectations for anything in my classroom - everything, whether it's materials or people, will be well-handled and respected. With these new books and materials, my students will be able to choose from a variety of nicely displayed books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading. They will also be able to utilize the whiteboards to share out answers with me and one another. The lamp lighting will keep them calm as the dimmer lights are better for emotional regulation and mental focus. The stools will give them a place to sit at my table during the guided reading time. When they have their independent work, they will be able to return to their own tables or, with permission, access the reading loft! My students will be so thrilled at new markers, whiteboards, books, and I will be beyond thrilled to organize the materials in my teaching cart!!
