Simply put my scholars are "it". They are inquisitive, analytical, curious, passionate and highly aware. As students in an application Early College Academy, they have put themselves on a path to achieve college success as soon as they start high school. This academy gives students the opportunity to earn an Associates's degree and high school diploma in 4 years! Students apply to our program in 8th grade and follow an accelerated schedule of classes to reach this goal. Though students come with various skill levels in math and literacy, all of my students push themselves to not just "get good grades" but to also close those gaps in their learning. My academy represents a small fraction of the amazing students who enliven our school community. We are an urban public school where over 99% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch and are Black and/or Latino.
