This is such a great project to invest in because I will be able to use it throughout my teaching career. Classroom rugs are more than a decoration piece. They build culture and community in the classroom. I am excited to gather together on the carpet for morning meetings, whole-group instruction, and afternoon meetings. As I student taught through COVID, I noticed the difference not being able to gather on the carpet made in the classroom community. As a first year teacher, building rapport with my students is important for classroom management. This classroom rug will be a pivotal piece in help building these relationships and community.

About my class
