This is my first year teaching in person after a whole year online teaching mainly Zoom squares. Virtual teaching posed many challenges to instructional variety, collaboration, access, and classroom community. With these materials, my classroom will transform into a welcoming and colorful space for students to work with one another, develop their writing fluency and creativity, and fall in love with reading. With notebooks and pencils for each student, writing will become easier, more accessible, and integral to classroom practice. Storage bins for table clusters will enable group work to flow smoothly, and getting the attention of my whole class will be quick and efficient with the sound of the doorbell. My hope is to create a classroom equipped with learning materials where students can challenge themselves and prosper joyfully.
