As a math teacher, I have always come up with different, creative ways to introduce my lessons and ways to hook the attention of my third graders. What better way than to incorporate reading into our everyday math lessons?! I need to build my class library not only to start my lessons off with a book, but to have the students actually read more independently and enrich their reading as well. Whether it is by me, with their groups at centers, or by themselves when they are done with their work, my class library will be extremely beneficial to my students and I.
