The books that I am requesting will help to fill the library of my fourth grade classroom. This will be my first year teaching fourth grade, therefore I would like to supply my students with books that are at their correct reading (and interest) level. Students will have the opportunity and freedom to choose any book that they would like from my library. These books can be read during reading time, free time, and when they are finished with their work. I will also allow students to check the books out for at home reading. Getting books into students' hands at this age can be quite difficult. However, allowing them the freedom to choose a book of interest, and having a wide variety of books to choose from, helps to encourage reading and promote the importance of it.
