The majority of the materials selected will not only be used to improve my students' reading strategies and skills but to also help instill a lifelong love for reading in them. To many children, reading is seen as another task or chore they must complete in the classroom. I want to steer them away from their current mindset and show them all the enjoyment that can be found in a good book! The supplies I have chosen will allow me to create a reading environment that is not only interactive but inspiring to children! I am asking for supplies that will spark students' interests and creativity when it comes to reading. I am hoping that my students will be able to see reading from an entirely new perspective. These resources will allow me to encourage creativity, highlight individuality, and provide support to students as they begin to take ownership of their reading experiences.
