Many of my students suffer from anxiety and do not know how to express themselves / ask for help when needed or overwhelmed. The sensory tools will not distract from the learning environment but will help them cope with their emotions. The octopi are for specific students to non verbally express themselves and the need for a break / walk. Together these tools will help keep my students in class, non disruptive and learning. Finally, they will help build my students ability to advocate for themselves. These tools will help myself as well as their other instructors address their independent functioning and social / emotional goals on their IEPs.
