My students come from a rural, low income school district where not all students have the same opportunities as others. By helping me expand and update my classroom library, students will have the opportunity to dive deeper into fiction and nonfiction literature to expand their literacy experiences. Included in this project are two box sets of social emotional learning to help educate my students on managing their feelings/emotions as well as interacting with peers. More than ever my students are struggling in this aspect due to COVID related experience losses. This is the first semi-normal school year that my students have had, ever. Through focusing on social-emotional learning and helping them regulate their emotions, it will allow them to practice growth mindset so they can achieve their potential.
