Scholastic magazines are a valuable resource that provides interesting information and activities that will enhance our Social Studies and Science curriculum. The magazines are written in grade level appropriate texts and the students enjoy reading them and doing the activities. We will read the magazines as a class, allowing all students to participate in the reading of important information that will build their background knowledge. This will also help the students with their reading fluency and the introduction of new vocabulary words. They will then be able to take home the magazines and share with their families what the have learned. The challenge of distant learning during the pandemic makes having these magazines to hold and actually do the activities will once again stir interest in reading.
